“I know that my redeemer lives and that in the end He will stand on the earth.” Job 19:25
The Easter message is a powerful story that many of us have grown up with and has woven into the fabric of our lives. But for millions around the world, their introduction to this message comes in drastically different ways.
FINDING SPIRTUAL FREEDOM
Lori* (Haiti) was being groomed by her aunt to become a witch doctor. She was forced to dance in Vodou ceremonies as a small child. Terrified, she felt like she had no choice and no hope out of this way of life … until she was brought into a Home of Hope family with LSM. Through that healing—and an introduction to Jesus Christ—Lori is celebrating Easter this year with a powerfully different attitude.
“I can dance and sing to Jesus today, instead of dancing in fear for my life.”
Easter, and the hope and powerful message of the Cross, is something that is now alive and thriving in Lori’s life.
FINDING LOVE AND HOPE
Eve* (Ethiopia) was raised as a Muslim in the countryside. At the young age of 15, she came to the capital city of Addis Ababa to try and find work. Unable to find any other way to support herself, Eve began working on the streets just to scrounge up enough money to buy food for the day. After giving birth to her first son, she grew even more desperate.
Then Eve was introduced to the life of Christ through LSM staff, and she began to see a different way of living. Her faith was transformed through the tangible love she saw lived out in the staff surrounding her.
Today, Eve celebrates Easter as a personal follower of Jesus Christ.
FINDING TOTAL SURRENDER
Frankie* (U.S.) gave her life to Jesus as a little girl. When she and her husband got married, they felt God leading them to adoption. Today, they have three adopted children in their home.
The Easter message has been a pivotal part of Frankie’s faith—one that has led her and her husband on a difficult, but ultimately incredibly rewarding road.
Jesus’ death and resurrection changes everything. How has it changed your life?
