GOD IS REDEEMING VULNERABLE FATHERLESS FAMILIES FOR HIS GLORY!
One of LSM’s core values is that “a loving, stable, godly family is the optimal environment for the healthy development of children.” In response, we are deeply committed to walking alongside vulnerable families who are highly at-risk, offering them healing and redemption.
In Ethiopia, since 2009, our Gospel-centered approach has empowered hundreds of vulnerable families with tools, skills, and hope to live with dignity and pursue their God-given purpose. To better describe our efforts, our Family Preservation program will now be called the Fatherless Family Redemption program. Illustrating the redeeming power of God in these families who have no father.
In Haiti, we witnessed the deep struggles of single mother households. Inspired by the powerful impact in Ethiopia, we have piloted a program over the past three years to support vulnerable families. With the successful impact, we’re now launching our new Fatherless Family Redemption program in Haiti as well.
Together, we can care for the fatherless, create lasting change, and redeem lives for Christ by equipping them with spiritual development, education, business training and basic necessities.
RESCUED & REDEEMED IN ETHIOPIA
LSM empowers at-risk single mothers and their children in Ethiopia, equipping them with dignity and confidence needed to thrive spiritually, socially, and economically so they can serve as Christ-centered role models in their community. By keeping families together, over 200 children are no longer at-risk of becoming homeless or trafficked.
Here is one family’s powerful story – from facing death to a life redeemed by the love of Christ!
Zala, a mother of two daughters, felt blessed in her marriage until the day her husband abandoned them and she discovered he had hid the devastating truth that he was HIV+. Worse still, tests revealed that Zala and both her daughters were also infected. Fear, heartbreak and betrayal overwhelmed them with the reality of their diagnosis. Alone and without support, Zala sold everything they owned in a desperate attempt to provide for her daughters. Most days, she could barely afford food, let alone the medical care they needed.
Facing death, God intervened and sent LSM’s Fatherless Family Redemption staff. Though Zala felt unworthy, God opened the door to begin a journey of healing and redemption. They received critical medical care, regular meals, and Bible-based counseling to help restore hope. Zala attended business training, empowering her to provide long term stability for her family. Her daughters received educational support and attended weekly Bible teaching. As a family, they also attend church, where the peace of God has begun to replace the fear that once held them captive.
Today, Zala and her daughters no longer live in fear of death. Through your support, their lives have been transformed by the redeeming love of Christ and the eternal hope they’ve found in Him.

HELP A FATHERLESS FAMILY IN HAITI
We currently have many families in desperate need of support. Without your help, these single mothers and their children may never experience God’s redeeming love. Below is a family that has been selected for our new Fatherless Family Redemption program, but are simply waiting for the support that will make it possible.
“My name is Veloute and I am a mother of five children. Since my husband’s death, I’ve carried the weight of our survival. Every day, I watch my children go hungry, unable to give them food, education and hope. I lie awake at night, heartbroken that I can’t give them the future they deserve. I kept praying and God answered by sending LSM to my family. For the first time, I believe my children’s lives can be changed and through God’s grace, I see a better future for us.”

Our USA program is dedicated to walking alongside local foster and adoptive children and their families, helping them grow, heal, and thrive as they pursue their God-given potential. These families who care for children who have experienced trauma, loss, and instability, need support, encouragement, and tools to navigate the complex journey.
One way we serve families is by providing free, therapeutic Christian counseling which offers a safe space for children to process their pain and for families to rebuild trust, connection, and hope. Your support helps to redeem lives with the love of Christ.
