By God’s grace and your faithful support, LSM’s Christ-centered programs are transforming the lives of hundreds of children in Haiti, Ethiopia, and the United States. We are continuing to help highly vulnerable children develop into Christ-like leaders.
Each child or family we serve carries the weight of poverty, instability, and uncertainty. At LSM, they are welcomed with love and their hearts are nurtured in Christ. They begin to understand their identity is not defined by hardship, but by God’s unfailing love. With their eyes fixed on Jesus, lives are being transformed, and a new generation is emerging who are grounded in faith, equipped with skills and committed to advancing God’s Kingdom.
In this newsletter, you will read about a young woman in Haiti whose life was transformed, a family in Ethiopia experiencing healing through their relationship with Christ, and foster and adoptive families in the U.S. being strengthened and equipped.
We are extremely thankful for God’s faithfulness and your support. Together, we are sharing the love of Christ with the world’s most vulnerable and raising up leaders who will carry that love even further.
VULNERABLE CHILD TO CONFIDENT LEADER

Born into poverty as one of eleven children, Mirlene’s future once looked hopeless. At just six years old, she joined a Home of Hope, where she received education, discipleship and hope for a better future.
After graduating high school, Mirlene continued at LSM Tech, growing academically, spiritually and professionally. She will graduate from university this year with a degree in computer science.
While studying at LSM Tech, Mirlene launched her own business producing peanut butter. Peanut butter is a staple food in Haiti, yet many products sold in local markets lack quality and flavor. Seeing the need, Mirlene created a business plan to purchase high-quality peanuts directly from local farmers. She slow roasts the peanuts to enhance flavor, then grinds them into a smooth, creamy paste before packaging and labeling each jar. Her peanut butter supplies all the Homes of Hope and is sold in the community.
Through her business, Mirlene is gaining valuable experience in leadership, management and financial responsibility for a sustainable future. Her goal is to expand her business into a recognized local brand and employ disadvantaged young women, providing them with income, dignity and independence.
We are thankful for Mirlene’s transformation from a vulnerable child to a confident leader, university graduate, entrepreneur, and Christ-centered role model in her community – and we are grateful for the impact your support makes in so many lives!
ETHIOPIAN FAMILY FINDS HOPE IN CHRIST
Ayana’s young life was full of loss and heartache. Her life changed forever when her father took his own life, leaving the family vulnerable and alone. Her mom, Fana, struggled to provide for them, and the family fell into deep poverty and despair.
When LSM’s Fatherless Family Redemption staff met Ayana and Fana, they listened to their struggles and offered hope. Through the program, Fana received business training, and the family received counseling and discipleship. Together, they started attending church and discovering God’s healing love. Once a Muslim family, they now have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Fana shares, “LSM helped me find courage, hope, and strength. My daughter, who had struggled deeply with the loss of her father, found healing and happiness.”
Today, Ayana is thriving in both school and church, and Fana is living with dignity as she cares for her daughter. Thanks to your support, this family has been transformed from devastation to hope, into a future filled with faith and opportunity.
SUPPORTING FOSTER & ADOPTIVE FAMILIES
Our USA program helps local foster and adoptive children and their families reach their God-given potential. We assist in three key areas. First, we provide free Christian counseling so families can find healing and hope. Second, we offer foster and adoptive parents the opportunity to stay at our beautiful LSM Respite Home, where they can relax and reconnect at no-cost. Third, we help couples navigate the complexities of the adoption process with guidance and support. Together, these initiatives provide help, healing and restoration to families on the front lines of caring for children. Thank you for making it possible!
