Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving family where they can discover the purpose God has for their life. That’s why it is such a great privilege to serve as the Director of USA Programs at Loving Shepherd Ministries.
Our mission is to help foster and adoptive children and their families. We do this by providing free, personalized adoption guidance for families beginning their adoption journey, offering free therapeutic Christian counseling for foster and adoptive families, and welcoming parents to our LSM Respite home, where they can rest, reconnect, and be refreshed. Together, these programs provide help, healing, and hope for families caring for vulnerable children.
Over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible difference that Christ-centered support can make for families navigating difficult circumstances. When parents are equipped and encouraged, children have the opportunity to heal and become healthy, independent Christ-followers.
CHRISTIAN COUNSELING FOR FAMMILIES
Across the United States, foster and adoptive families open their hearts and homes to children who have experienced trauma, neglect, loss, and instability. While foster care and adoption offer hope, they also bring unique challenges for families.
That’s why Loving Shepherd Ministries provides free therapeutic Christian counseling for foster and adoptive families in Indiana. In a safe, compassionate environment, we help:
- Children process trauma, loss, and difficult past experiences.
- Families build trust and strengthen relationships.
- Parents develop practical tools for navigating challenging behaviors.
- Provide hope, healing, and restoration.
An essential part of our counseling program is walking alongside families with practical tools rooted in biblical truth and trauma-informed care. While every family is unique, we encourage parents to remember the Four C’s of Parenting:
- CALM: A calm parent helps create a safe environment where children can learn to regulate their emotions.
- CONSISTENCY: Children who have experienced instability need consistent responses, routines, and expectations.
- CURIOSITY: Understanding the “why” for a child’s behavior, leads to responding with compassion and helping children develop healthier ways to cope.
- CONNECTION: Strong relationships are the foundation of healthy parenting. Spending intentional time together builds trust for children which allows them to heal and grow.
Our counseling program equips families to navigate complex challenges with confidence and Christ-centered hope. Every counseling session is an opportunity for children and parents to experience healing and build stronger relationships.
EXPANDING RESOURCES NATIONWIDE
With the knowledge and expertise of our licensed counselors, we have an opportunity to meet an even greater need by expanding the resources available to foster and adoptive families. Many parents face overwhelming challenges as they care for children impacted by trauma, often experiencing discouragement, stress, and isolation as they work to strengthen their families.
To help meet this growing need, we’re excited to share that our USA Programs team will soon begin developing multimedia resources to encourage and equip foster and adoptive families nationwide. Through videos, articles, and practical parenting tools, we’ll provide Christ-centered guidance on topics such as parenting children from difficult places, strengthening marriages, managing stress, understanding trauma, and navigating the unique challenges foster and adoptive families often face.
Our prayer is that these resources will extend the reach of our ministry by bringing hope, encouragement, and biblical support to families wherever they live. Together, we are helping children heal, strengthening families, and creating homes where every child has the opportunity to become healthy, independent Christ-followers who impact their families and communities for God.
SUPPORTING FATHERLESS FAMILIES
Many single mothers in Haiti and Ethiopia face overwhelming challenges that place their children at risk of abandonment or exploitation. Our Fatherless Family Redemption program provides the critical support families need to stay together and build a better future.
Families receive discipleship, counseling, and connections to local churches. Single mothers participate in business training, receive startup capital, and are mentored as they build sustainable sources of income. Children receive educational support, school tuition, tutoring, and life-skills training.
As mothers grow in faith and confidence, families become stronger and more self-sufficient. Children are able to remain in school, stay with their families, and pursue the future God has planned for them. Thank you for making this possible through your prayers and generous support!

Pray for our FATHERLESS FAMILY REDEMPTION PROGRAM IN HAITI AND ETHIOPIA as single mothers and their children are empowered, discipled and equipped for a better future and to share their faith with others in their communities.
