Light of the World
2025 Year in Review
In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” We are grateful that, together, we can reflect the Light of Christ to those living in hopelessness. Our Christ-centered programs are transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Haiti, Ethiopia and the United States, helping them reach their God-given potential and inspiring change in their communities for Christ.
Despite the challenges in the countries we serve, our programs continue to thrive and grow. The needs are great, but we give thanks to God for the life-changing impact we see in the lives of vulnerable children (see below).
Your support at year-end means so much and allows us to grow and deepen our work with vulnerable children.
Would you prayerfully consider giving a financial gift to help more vulnerable children?

From a very young age, Henri* endured a childhood full of suffering, but at age seven, his life changed when he joined LSM’s first Home of Hope. There, he experienced the love and care of a family and was able to attend school and church.
After high school, Henri pursued higher education at LSM Tech. During this time, he made some poor decisions that led him to reflect on his life choices and with guidance from our staff, that pivotal season helped him understand his true worth in God’s eyes. With a renewed heart, he committed himself to Christ. Today, Henri is baptized, a leader in his church, completing his studies and leading his own mission work in Haiti!
God opened doors for Henri to launch a ministry for vulnerable children in remote areas of Haiti. “This ministry allows me to give back to others, offering them the same hope in Christ that I received from LSM,” he shares.
Henri’s ministry is sustained through the support of friends and family, despite their limited resources. He leads week-long youth camps in remote mountain communities several times a year, sharing the Gospel through Bible lessons and worship while providing meals and school supplies. His most recent camp blessed more than 300 children, ages 3 to 19!
Born in a remote village himself, Henri understands the struggles these children face and gives God all the glory for the blessings in his own life. By sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, he reflects the gift he received from LSM and brings the light of the Gospel to the hearts of Haiti’s next generation.

From a very young age, Mireille* faced overwhelming hardship. She never knew her father, and her mother struggled to meet even her most basic needs, often unable to provide food, education, or stability. As the youngest in her family, Mireille lived in extreme poverty and suffered from severe malnutrition. But God had a greater purpose for her life—one that went far beyond survival.
Through His grace, Mireille found a new beginning in a Home of Hope family. Surrounded by love and care, she received the physical, emotional and spiritual care she desperately needed. As her faith grew, she accepted Jesus as her Savior. She also attended school and proudly graduated from high school in 2019.
She continued her education at LSM Tech and a local college, pursuing a degree in Business Management. During this time, Mireille’s natural leadership emerged as she served as a campus manager and completed an internship with LSM Fatherless Family Redemption staff, where she actively served her community.
“Today, I am a young woman full of potential. As a recent college graduate, I’ve achieved a dream that wouldn’t have been possible without LSM. I want to express my deepest gratitude to every LSM supporter who has helped me become who I am today. I will continue to work hard so you can see the fruit of your support in my life. May God bless you!” – Mireille

My life before and during LSM are two completely different worlds. My mother had 8 children, and when my dad abandoned us, I was sent to live with my godmother. She was a fortune teller, and from a very young age, involved me in the darkness of her witchcraft.
The day I joined my Home of Hope was the greatest gift I had ever received! For the first time, I experienced what it meant to have a family who loved and cared for me. Even more importantly, I heard about Jesus and His amazing love for the first time.
After graduating from high school, I attended LSM Tech where I learned new skills, advanced my education, and served as the campus cafeteria manager. My faith deepened as I walked closely with Jesus to follow His special plan for my life.
Recently, I earned my degree as an esthetician and began working as a mentor to new students at LSM Tech. My next goal is to begin studying psychology to advocate and help orphans, young people, vulnerable families, and the elderly in my country.
One of the most beautiful moments of my life was this year, when my Home of Hope dad walked me down the aisle on my wedding day! It was a powerful reminder of how far God has brought me—from a little girl rescued from darkness to a woman walking in His light and purpose.
I am forever grateful for your prayers and support. Because of you, my life has been completely transformed by the love of Christ!

Dawit* was born into deep poverty. After his father abandoned the family, his mother became the sole provider. He remembers: “My mom worked long hours washing clothes and cleaning houses, but she could barely afford a loaf of bread each day to feed my sister and me. I had just one ripped school uniform and carried my few books in a plastic bag. I had nothing to eat at lunchtime and no one to help me with homework. I dreamed of making a difference one day—but I felt hopeless.“
But through LSM’s Fatherless Family Redemption program, Dawit’s family found hope and faith. They now have food, clothes and new school uniforms, a two-room home, and tutoring to help them succeed in school. They also attend a local church to hear the Good News. “I started to believe I was more than a poor boy but a child of God who can serve others,” Dawit shares.
His mom received business training and started selling homemade baskets. Now she not only provides for her family but is saving for their future. LSM also offered her counseling, helping her heal from years of suffering. She began to stand taller, feel confident, and dream again—not just for herself, but for her children.
With gratitude Dawit shares, “Today, I’m thriving in school and want to become a pastor so I can share the Good News and help others the way LSM helped me.”
We are thankful for God’s special plan for this family – during their darkest time they received the Good News of His love and are a testimony to their community!
