As Home of Hope kids are growing up, the LSM staff in Haiti is working to provide opportunities for the kids to learn new skills along the way. One of their newest projects at the homes is gardening.
Families are given a start-up set which includes gardening tools, supplies and seeds to help the family construct a raised block bed for a variety of vegetables and plants.
The Chantal 1 Home of Hope family has started several test plots to see how it goes. It has proven to be a fun thing for the whole family to do together! Not only that, but it’s providing fresh produce for the home and developing a strong work ethic for the boys as they contribute to the family.
The test plots at Chantal have gone so well, we are ready to start the gardens at several other homes. This Christmas, you can help provide a garden starter set ($150 donation) for these Homes. This gift is something that will keep on giving to the family throughout the year as well!
